PHF All-Stars Vote Mrázová, Fratkin, and Packer Team Captains

The Premier Hockey Federation All-Star Game is hitting Toronto, Ontario for the first time this Sunday at 7 PM EST. This All-Star game will feature three teams, Team USA, Team Canada and Team World.

Yesterday, the league announced three captains Madison Packer of the Metropolitan Riveters for Team USA, Kaleigh Fratkin of the Boston Pride for Team Canada, and Kateřina Mrázová of the Connecticut Whale to lead Team World.

“This year’s captains were each selected by their All-Star teammates to represent them on this stage, which is a credit to their skill, experience, leadership, character, and how well-respected they are among their peers,” PHF Commissioner Reagan Carey said in the press release.

“Both Madison and Kaleigh have helped build the league since its inaugural season. Kateřina was one of the league’s first international stars before the recent wave of incoming talent from overseas. Congratulations to all three captains who are most deserving of this honor, and best of luck this weekend!”

Meet the Captains

Starting with league veteran and sixth-time All-Star and second-time All-Star Captain Madison Packer, leading team USA. She is a 2018 Isobel Cup champion and has racked up 60 goals and 119 points throughout her eight seasons with the league.

“It’s always an honor to be included in the All-Star weekend,” Packer said in the league press release.
“I appreciate the nod from my fellow U.S. All-Stars, and have to give a shout-out to Jillian Dempsey. There was a tie twice between her and me after our team voted and she passed the torch to me so I could enjoy this one with my kiddos.
I want to acknowledge and thank her for that, and a huge congratulations to everyone selected. I think this format will make for a very fun and competitive weekend.”

Packer and the Riveters are struggling in the Season 8 regular season. The Founding 4 team will look to climb up from sixth in the standings after the PHF All-Star break.

Oh, Canada

Team Canada Captain, another favorite of the league, Kaleigh Fratkin. This isn’t Fratkin’s first rodeo, appearing in her sixth All-Star game, including the first-ever All-Star Weekend in Buffalo. Fratkin is a first-time captain and will represent her home country in the first-ever league All-Star event in Canada.

Fratkin is a founding member of the Connecticut Whale and has also played for the New York (now Metropolitan) Riveters. She is a two-time Defender of the Year and has appeared in 129 games, the second-most in league history. She also has the most points for her position over her career, with 82.

“It's an honor to be named the All-Star captain for Team Canada,” Fratkin said in the press release.. “I've been fortunate enough to be a part of several PHF All-Star games, and it's always a fun weekend for both players and fans. I'm looking forward to the new setup this year that showcases the talent in our league across different countries. It's truly a testament to how far the league has come over the years. I'm confident our team can pull out the W in front of our Canadian fans!”

Fratkin will represent the first-place Boston Pride on Team Canada.

Stacked with Olympians

For Team World, Kateřina Mrázová has both PHF history and international experience for her national team with Team Czechia. In her time with the PHF, as a member of the Whale, she stood out, scoring 12 points in 15 games and in this season alone, 13 points in 14 games.

“I think anyone on the team could have been selected. They are some of the best players in the league, and not just that, they are also great leaders and friends. So, I think all of us are just really excited to represent all six countries.”
